How To Hear From God

You must have read many Christian books, written by the fathers of the Gospel on how to hear from God yet you haven’t heard a whisper, you must have fasted and prayed for years to hear from God yet your spiritual ears are still locked, today I give you the easy option without even reading books, fasting or praying.

In a vision this morning, I was standing on a valley flanked by mountains, in the valley I saw a herd of sheep at the center, a tribe of goats at the left, and brood fowls at the right, in the midst of each one a shepherd and a poulterer sat, those animals and birds moved when they say move, they stopped when they say stop, they sat when they say sit and they ate when they say eat, they were too many but they were all in a file, none left the queue.

Animals can’t understand the human language, but they seem often to understand us because they obey us. It’s obedience that gives rise to understanding not language, a child who disobeys his parents can never understand the language they speak, obedience gives rise to communication.

If animals can hear man, a being different from them, why is it difficult for us to hear from God, the Being we’re created in His image? Obedience to God opens the spiritual ears, disobedience blocks it, there’s no easier way than this.

So your journey to hearing from God starts the moment you start obeying him, can that moment be now? Yes, it can if you so desire. God speaks to us in everything and every time but we can’t hear Him, He warns us of possible danger, but our ears are blocked by disobedience.

Kneeling down to pray can’t open the ears, raising the hands or covering one’s face or hair can’t open the ears, going to church regularly can’t, being a priest or holding titles and positions in the church can’t open the ears, preaching from Monday to Sunday can’t open the ears, only a simple act of obedience opens the ears.
