Celibacy And Priesthood, Are Priests Supposed To Be Married Or Celibate?
If anyone should be married foremost it should be priests from every angle of truth and form. Celibacy has no room in the material world, if truly it’s God’s plan, in the first place Eve wouldn’t have been given to Adam, forthwith, I have a cousin who’s a celibate priest and medical Doctor in the US, so I am directly involved.
In the animal kingdom no celibacy, in the plant kingdom no celibacy, even in the spirit kingdom we have male and female spirits, so we can’t have it in the human kingdom, except for two reasons, which I will explain herein.
If we should consult the Holy Book, there is no room for celibacy for those called or chosen to serve God, biological it’s unhealthy, it’s a social bankruptcy, and historical infusion of what wasn’t there not until the year 1123. On this very year, it was enforced, no one chose it, it wasn’t accepted by anyone, they implemented measures that made it possible till this date, it’s no one’s wish to become celibate all for the sake of priesthood, I say no one.
There have been agitations by some priests to lift the enforcement, a public sondage has been set severally, majority voted for its abolishment. Celibacy the way it was stated in the Bible is an option based on choice, an option based on one’s decision, the celibacy practiced by religious organizations is an enforced one, it went out of Biblical teachings, for this reason, I write.
I write because I would want that priests to be allowed to choose either to remain celibate or be married, but its total abolishment should be the best option, it wasn’t there in the first place not until 1123, it will be nice if we go back to reality, check there wasn’t anything like celibacy before, popes married had children, is pope Lorenzo not the son of pope Magnificent?
Cardinals and bishops married and had children, marriage was generally allowed and a daily thing until Gregory became the pope, it was during his reign that celibacy was introduced, a remote practice, just to suit his social ideology, apart from this, there was more to it, more of economical reasons.
Before its ban, when a priest dies, his children lay hands on the church’s properties, to stop this, celibacy was introduced, it has nothing to do with spirituality according to the one who introduced it, Gregory.
The church is an extension of the family, to understand the church you must understand the family, Jesus chose all married men as Apostles emphasizing the importance of family in the church, the two are connected, family isn’t a theorist lane, it’s empirical.
We can’t detach the family from the church, so no room for celibate priests, what’s permitted is a free married priest. My friend Apostle Paul considered all these and he asked a question in the Book of Timothy: “If you aren’t married how can you lead the church?” Paul answered it by stating the sort of social life every priest, apostle, bishop, pastor, teacher, prophet etc. must live, marriage is the foremost, not just being married but happily married.
The picture I attached to this post is a Professor of New Testament Studies at Wesley Theological Seminary Holland, and Michigan and a serving priest at Trinity episcopal cathedral in Pittsburgh.
He is a celibate gay priest, he published a book encouraging other priests to practice a celibate gay lifestyle, how can we explain this? forbidden from marrying but allowed to practice gay, celibate gay is allowed but marriage isn’t allowed, you now see how Satan has taken over some people.
What is divine was considered evil, while what is evil is considered divine, this is what it means to be a celibate gay priest, the same people who forced you to become a celibate allow you to practice gay, and you are comfortable with it.
The theory of celibacy is a brainwash that denies priests social freedom, when I hear some priests chase after girls, seen in the night club I don’t condemn them, instead I condemn the system that subjected them to that state.
Finally, coming to the two exceptions I mentioned, according to the Bible, there are people made celibate from birth, for example, Melchizedek and Jesus, and those who chose to be celibate, it’s never a thing to be enforced on people, let them throw it open and abolish celibacy without attaching conditions as it has always been in one month 90% of celibate priests will be married.
On the Last day, during the feast with the Lamb in Heaven, it’s written Christ shall be the Husband, the Church His wife and all the saints His children, even in Heaven family can not be separated from the church, the same applies here, anyone one who desires to lead the church in any capacity should do the same. I stand against celibacy of priests.
