Hypocrisy: Different Shades Of Life
I pretended I knew nothing, because it’s hard of me to heal someone of hypocrisy, it’s difficult to wake someone who pretends to be asleep.
This particular place is where Jesus explained hypocrisy and everything about it, we can’t find any better definition of hypocrisy than these verses.
Matthew 23: 1-7
Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
The hypocrites can offer you a gallon of water in the open place in the view of everyone, but they can’t offer you a cup of water in the secret.
Those good things you do in public can you be comfortable enough to do it in secret without anyone seeing you, without expecting praises?
Why Jesus was so much against the Jews was because they were hypocrites, what they say isn’t what they do, and what they do isn’t what they say, it continues forever.
Hypocrisy is someone living different shades of life, on social media, a type of life, at the workplace, a type of life, at home, a type of life, in the church, a different type of life.
A friend of mine in Abuja that year, whenever his wife came around, that was when I saw him praying, she was a student in Unijos, and once she returned, he dropped the Bible and became who he was.
He paints a picture of a God-fearing believer before his wife, behind her, he is another person.
Any life you can’t be comfortable revealing before people is a self hypocrisy; a self deceit.
He would tell me, “Kanayo I am coming, let me pick something” but in truth, he went to Madala to have some time with a large size harlot.
When his wife returns from school with her daughter, he picks up the Bible early in the morning and becomes a born again, speaking in tongue and singing loud worship, and I would be looking at him in surprise.
I pretended I knew nothing, because it’s hard of me to heal someone of hypocrisy, it’s difficult to wake someone who pretends to be asleep.
Can a Doctor heal someone who pretends to be sick of nothing? That’s how hypocrisy cuts.
Be proud in the open of every of your lifestyle, be proud in the open of those things you do in secret, if you won’t be proud and comfortable about your secret life then why do them? À quoi ça sert?
If you can give good things in the open, do it in the secret likewise, so that you’ll earn a place in the final gathering of the saints.
Know it, Jesus won’t welcome any hypocrite into His Kingdom.
