Let’s Talk About Lust

There are different types and degrees of lust, lust is a selfish gratification in that it seeks to only satisfy the flesh.

1 John 2:16, “For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life is not from the Father but is from the World.”

Lust lacks respect.
Lust is the absence of love.
Lust is an evil seed that germinated from the earth and planted itself into the human soul.
Lust is like the breeze of the earth, it finds its way into the human soul by what the eyes see and what the flesh feels about what is in the world.

Lust is a portion on the humans flesh that wages war against the human soul.
The human flesh is an enemy, it has a host called lust, whenever it discovers something or someone to please itself it begins to lust.

To overcome the lust of the flesh, the Psalmist prayed in 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight O LORD, my Redeemer.”

Lust is always there, because we are in the flesh, despite the fact we are weak and in the flesh, God still wants us to defeat lust, but how? By meditation on the Word in our heart, when our heart’s desire is aimed at pleasing God more than ourselves, we can defeat lust.

Jesus defeated every form of lust and gave all the power to live above lust and the spirit of lust.
The temptations humans face emanate from the seed of lust, if we can defeat lust, it’s possible to please God, can one defeat lust by personal efforts? No way, there must be constant meditation in the Word in the heart to keep that influence at bay.

Lust is a spirit, it comes in different forms, the aim is to set the soul at enmity with God, a lustful heart can’t see God, the Kingdom of God is the Land of love, lust is an opposite of love, it dwells on earth, love dwells in Heaven.

We can’t get to Heaven with a lustful heart, God delights in love, Lucifer delights in lust.
The destination of every lust is Hell, the destination of Love is Heaven, it’s a badge we must strive to detach off the soul.

Some will sit down and tell you, they don’t commit this sin or that sin, that’s brilliant, but what about the hidden lust in the heart? What about it? It’s the most dangerous.
To like anything that displeases God secretly or openly is lust.
Is there a sin greater than lust? Not any, it’s the factory of all sins.

Lust starts with the letter L, love starts with the letter L, many at times what we call love is lust, many people are in the pool of lust thinking they are in love.

Love doesn’t hurt, it makes, it builds, but lust? It causes mental confusion, it destroys destinies because it’s of the Devil.

Are you in love or in lust, what are the things you love, and what are the things you lust after? Can you tell the difference between love and lust? Pray God to help you tell the difference.

Let there be understanding to love, let there be understanding to understand the difference between love and lust and let there be divine help to live in love towards all things and everyone.
