Sports Betting, Gambling And Lottery

The Bible doesn’t specifically speak against betting, lottery or gambling, but some verses suggests God wants Christians to stay away from it.

Betting, lottery or gambling is an activity that expresses love for money, in 1 Timothy 6:10 and Hebrew 13:5, God warned us to stay away from the love of money, yes we need money, but we aren’t to love money.

When you love money you can do anything evil to have it.
In Proverbs 13:11; 23:5; Ecclesiastes 5:10 Christians are also warned to stay away from any attempt to ” get rich quick.”

Betting is gambling, it’s focused on the love for money with the promise of quick easy riches, even in Freetown there’s no free food, there’s no quick means to getting rich, there are processes.

Hebrews 13:5 says, “Be content with what you have because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'”

Sports betting is the newest variant of financial slavery imposed indirectly on victims, it’s a system designed to specifically target sports lovers.

I have nothing against football, but I have everything against football betting.

It isn’t just betting or forecasting, it’s gambling, the winner takes it all, the loser goes home empty.
I talk about this, because football betting has damaged many families, there are some suicide cases attributed to betting, some children dropped out of school because their father used their school fees to bet, some evicted for being unable to pay their rent, betting took it all, some businesses folded and they blame it on enemies, betting is that secret enemy you’ve to be afraid of.

Betting is gambling, gambling is a spirit, it’s addictive, it possess the victim until he has lost everything.
Gambling is a stubborn evil spirit, once it lays hold on you, you need deliverance and counselling to be free.

Gambling could cause high blood pressure, anxiety, anger, untimely death due to seasoned thinking.
Forget about the betting shops, watch your football, and go home, the people who set up the sports betting industry didn’t do that to lose, they set it up to gain 100% of the invested funds.

Sports betting is an online casino, the owners get richer, and people who patronise them get poorer.
They didn’t set up the sports betting industry to be at any loss, they set it to enslave your pocket dry.

In as much we know the Bible didn’t condemn gambling like sports betting and lottery, but it’s also clear to know such activities express the love of money, it expresses an attempt to get rich quick and it expresses a coveted mind, all these God is against as seen in the verses.

So sports betting, gambling or lottery are forbidden for Christians to engage in.
If you’re going through financial difficulty, take this one promise from God:
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'”

If you’re under the influence of sports betting and gambling, seek for deliverance and counselling, you’re under the control of the spirit incharge for the love of money, Jesus identified the demon in Matthew as Mammon.

Why gambling is not good for Christians is because a demon Mammon is in charge, and you don’t have to get into that cycle, instead of being free from any financial inbalance they wreck you empty, the sports betting industries aren’t there to enrich anyone, they are there to take everything you have.

But take this Hebrews promise: “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'”

God knows about your financial situation, do not be afraid, He has promised never to forsake you.
