The most popular Psalms in all the Scripture is Psalms 23, every Christian knows this verse, but let’s understand a phrase in verse 5, “:my cup runneth over.”
My cup runneth over expresses the unending nature of God’s blessings, protection, presence and power.
God fills our cups to run over, because His blessings aren’t just for us alone, He fills our cups to the point it spills out to be a blessing to others whose cups are empty.
You’ll have more than enough to cater for your needs and wants and also give to others whose cups are empty for the moment.
There people whose cups runneth over, and there are people whose cups have nothing inside it, it’s not the desire of God to see cups empty, for this reason He filled your cup to the point of over flow so that you can fill the cup of those whose cups have nothing in them.
If every Christian should understand this verse and practice what’s written therein, then we won’t have any child of God on earth whose is poor.
We’ve Christians who are billionaires, they have the resources to send orphans and children of the poor to school but they can’t do it, they keep the overflow the Lord has blessed them with to be a blessings to others for their children-children while God’s children parade with empty cups.
A cup that runs over shouldn’t be savings for generation unborn, let your overflow go into empty cups.
The cup being filled isn’t till you become a billionaire, it’s till the point you’ve taken care of your basic needs, letting your cup run over into other cups isn’t for you to empty your cup, but the overflow should be allowed to flow into empty cups.
God is Eternal, his blessings and provisions are forever, when you fill empty cups from your overflow, do so in faith as the Lord will never stop filling your cup.
It isn’t our efforts that fill the cup, it’s the Lord’s.
Let your cup be filled and run over, also allow the overflow to fill empty cups near and far.
