The Four Wings That Can’t Fly
Elisha came from Elijah; inherited his anointing, but he didn’t follow the footsteps of Elijah, if he had done so, he would have been afraid of his enemies like Elijah.
I said to him over there, “My father served you in truth and spirit, he earned eternal life, so I am following his footsteps, I love the things he loved, I hate the things he hated, I believe following his path will equally earn me eternal life” but he said to me, “Yes your father served me in truth and spirit, but you can’t follow his footsteps because you’re different, follow the unique path I have laid before you.”
It’s good to follow good people based on the life they lived or live, but what about the very life God personally demands of us, which is entirely different from the life of the people we follow.
We are created equal but made differently, what He demands of us are different, the path He has set before us are different, no one can find his path by following paths set before others.
Discipleship or submission doesn’t mean you should follow someone step, there is a unique path laid before you by God, a prototype no one else has, in that unique path you will find your complete place in God.
I want you to understand something here, I have a spiritual father, in some of the battles I faced, he brought forth two knives, he gave me one, we fought side by aside against enemies and we always won, but I don’t follow his steps, he’s an Evangelist, I am a teacher, our paths are different, there’s no way I can follow his path and see that needed light.
Elisha came from Elijah; inherited his anointing, but he didn’t follow the footsteps of Elijah, if he had done so, he would have been afraid of his enemies like Elijah.
Yes, he received double portion of Elijah, but he chose a different path of operation and service, a path that didn’t submit to any fear.
That same day he received the anointing, he set to confront the powers and principalities that chased Elijah into the bush.
Elijah at one point was fearful, but Elisha was fearless in all his ways, because he chose a different path from that of his master.
In following that unique path laid before him by God, he defeated all the things which terrified his master Elijah.
Our paths are unique, it could be lesser or greater than the people we follow. It’s good to have spiritual fathers, mothers and mentors and all that but find your path, stay on it.
Some of the people you emulate their steps while forgetting that unique path laid before you by God, if your eyes are opened to see the path laid before you, you will be surprised to know your path is even greater than the people you are following.
I saw him standing, someone I know, he has four wings, but he can’t fly, I asked, why can’t a man with four wings fly? Because he abandoned his path and focused on people, he focused on anointed men of God and prophets without knowing the paths of his calling and destiny are greater than some of them.
Copy no man’s path, walk on no man’s path, there is a path set before you, follow it and you’ll fly.
You will fly in power and anointing only if you discover your path, and follow it.
