The Nomenclature Of The Name Jesus
The Name Jesus is a Greek rendering of the Greek version of Yeshua (Joshua) and Yehoshuah, from the two words they got Jesus.
Many people hold a historical and ancestral position that the Name Jesus isn’t His true name, owing to the fact the letter J isn’t in the Hebrew alphabet, this is true, but does it mean the Name Jesus is wrong as believed by many?
This takes us down to the linguistic nomenclature of the Name Jesus.
Some say it’s the name of a Greek god, but there’s no such god in Greece whose name is Jesus.
The Greeks call Him Jesus as their own version of Ye’Shua, it was carved out by the Greeks from Greek rendering of Joshua and its Hebrew version Yehoshuah(Yahweh is deliverance).

When the Greeks translated the Bible from Hebrew to Greek, they used words and names that align with their language still holding the same meaning, in Igbo Bible, do we say God? Rather we call him Chineke, does it mean Chineke is the name of a god in Igboland? The same applies to various names other races call Yehoshuah, on this side Jesus in the tongue of the Greeks.
In Hebrew we have Yahweh, in Latin, we’ve Jehova, in English we’ve Lord, all talking about the same person, Lord God, that we don’t call Yehoshuah doesn’t mean Jesus isn’t the true Name, the name has different linguistic renderings across race and culture, go to Asia, they have theirs, but still the same personality.
When people argue with you that Jesus is the Name of a Greek god, remember these lines, a tip of it I have given you.
