The Pigs Of The Street

The street belongs to the pigs; it belongs to girls who don’t know their worth. The highway of life belongs to people desperate in hopelessness.

That morning, they knocked on the door, I welcomed them in, they said, “Kanayo we are leaving to the other city where life is better” I asked them to stay back everything will be fine in time, but the two young girls aged 23 and 21 couldn’t agree with me, we joked about certain things, and they left for the city called Mega.

Months passed they were still in that Mega city, no communication, no words, one evening, I was at home, the doorbell rang downstairs, I heard two people laughing, they were my two friends who had left months ago, so I asked them to press the password of the elevator, and they came up.

They met me on a table, there were different types of meat, a baguette and red wine thereon, I was comfortable more than people in the Mega city, even in the state of not having enough I had everything provided in a manner beyond my understanding, at the malls, I bought things in a way people who have everything were in awe, they asked one another, “Is that black man a king in Africa?”

I am no king in Africa, but the truth is even in the face of challenges and troubles of life, if you find comfort in them, and remain calm even people who have everything will believe you are better than them.

When Miss XYZZY and YXZZY entered my sitting room, the sight of merriment they saw made them stop half way, and they began to talk to themselves, “Look at Kanayo, you and I know his challenges but he’s always calm and doesn’t worry about them, even in the face of troubles he has more than enough, this lifestyle is a grace, we need it” the elderly one on blue jeans and sky blue shirt came, placed her hand on my arm and said, “We connect to your grace, grace to find peace in the face of problems.”

When they received that grace to be calm in the face of problems, I didn’t hear them anymore talking about their problems, and they never lacked.

The street belongs to the pigs; it belongs to girls who don’t know their worth. The highway of life belongs to people desperate in hopelessness.

They were my friends when they left. Even when they came back, they were still my friends despite the fact they became pigs; they cleaned themselves up and left the wicked ways of finding help.

I didn’t want to ask them how was the experience in the Mega city, but without asking they told me, long story short, when they got to that city, the only thing they could find to do was standing by the street side waiting for a ‘pick up’ every evening under the harsh winter and the wind.

Why did they change their mind to leave? In one of the evening outings, a man who looked like a pig approached them in the usual stand, they are girls that know their worth, but due to impatience and fear they fell beneath the level of their worth, they swallowed that humiliation where men undeserving would come and buy them for all night romantic run and give the few Dollars in the morning and call Uber to drop them off, but what about this one that looked like a pig? Have we become so low like this, what’s the worth of the girl in the street? The worth of a pig.

Are we now as worthless as pigs? Are we now so lost to ourselves that even a pig desires us? No, we are stopping here. While they were trying to understand, the man made an offer as little as a pig’s meal. Hurriedly, they left the street that evening, went home, packed their bags, and booked a late-night flight.
To be quiet and calm in the face of problems is a grace. To be comfortable in the face of problems is a gift from God. It’s normal to react and be sorely worried about problems, but where there’s grace, you will find peace amid the problems.

People think you aren’t normal when you find peace in the face of problems, they think you don’t have senses when you don’t complain about problems, but little do they know you’re more normal than them, but you chose peace and calm over problems, they think you aren’t okay, or you aren’t smart because you don’t run across the world looking for ways to solve your problem, I look at them and I smile, it’s a strange beautiful world et crois moi.

Yes, you may have problems bigger than mountains, but the problems don’t have you, so they will go when it’s time.

Worries and running around can’t make them go away if God doesn’t help you.
When Moses considered all his problems, he complained to God in bitterness, and God said to him, “…I will give you rest.” From that day on, Moses found peace in the face of all his problems.

In the face of problems, what you need isn’t complaints or dwelling in worries; ask God to give you rest. When God gives you rest, all the problems will begin to solve themselves even without your notice.
Tell me, what help do you need from God when you have already decided to help yourself?
Let there be grace to be calm and quiet in the face of problems, and let there be grace to find peace in the face of your challenges.
