The Priests Asked

“Aren’t you a Catholic?” I responded, “Must I be a Muslim because I am Nigerian, and must I be a Catholic because I am a Christian?”

This morning, I found myself in a school, the population was more than 10,000 men and women, it appeared to be my first day.

At 12 O’clock a big bell sonné and all the students went to the assembly, the assembly couldn’t contain the number, buses were used to convey student to other grounds, it was a big school.

When I heard the bell, I went out with Bible and fruits, I sat on a table on the alley, after a time, I went to check what was going on in the assembly, they were praying.

On the way back I met two priests supervising the prayer making sure no one stays behind, they asked, “Why aren’t you in the assembly praying?” I responded, “Look over there, my Bible, I am reading my Bible” they let me take some few steps and called me back, and asked again, “Aren’t you a Catholic?” I responded, “Must I be a Muslim because I am Nigerian, and must I be a Catholic because I am a Christian?”

As I was about leaving, I said to them, “The name of my church is ‘My relationship with God.'”
The church is a house of prayer, it’s a place where we go to worship and praise God in fellowship with the Brethren, it’s a general form of honour to God.

No one will see God because he attended Pentecostal, Anglican or Roman catholic, you’ll see God based on your personal relationship with God, instead of focusing your strength on church names focus on building a strong relationship with God, this is all that will matter.

The Kingdom of God isn’t for people who attended churches, it’s for people whose dealings with God were based on sincere relationship, on the Last Day, there shall be only One Church, Christ, focus on Him.

Once one closes his eyes, he won’t remember the church he attended any more, what stands before him is his relationship with God, there’s never a time God will ask you, “What church did you attend?” So why do we ask about the irrelevant?

Is it the church we should worry about or the Gospel? Is it the church we should care about or sound Doctrine?

Building the church passed through two stages: crucifixion and resurrection.
To understand what the church is, focus on the works He did on the Cross, and His resurrection, not on church names and denominations given my man.

Too many church names are causing division in the body of Christ, every church with its doctrine and sermon different from others, every church wants to be unique, do things in a way that suits them, without putting into consideration if it’s the Doctrine of Jesus Christ, focus of the Gospel, the Doctrine of Jesus Christ, not on church names and doctrines of men.

The Bible says, unless Christ had been crucified on the Cross and resurrected, He could not build up the church, it’s the Cross that gave birth to resurrection and resurrection gave birth to the church, follow that step from the top down and you won’t be wrong.
