To Dwell In the House Of The Lord

In this context dwell is a Hebrew word ‘yashab’ to inhabit, not a tent or building, David was referring to the Spirit of God inhabiting in him being dead to sin.

In Psalm 23:6, King David prayed he will dwell in the House of the Lord for ever all the days of his life.
The dwelling as used here doesn’t mean living in the Temple or going there from morning till evening, it means being dead to sin.

In this context dwell is a Hebrew word ‘yashab’ to inhabit, not a tent or building, David was referring to the Spirit of God inhabiting in him being dead to sin.

When we are dead to sin, it’s same as dwelling in the House of God, a House of God is a temple where no sin is found, such a temple isn’t building but the human spirit.

We may go to the House of God from morning till night without dwelling in the House of God, we may have gone to church for everlasting years without dwelling in the house of God for once.

To be dead to sin is the only way the Spirit of God can live in you, He talks to you, you hear him, you know Him, and He knows you, when this Righteous Spirit from the Lord finds a seat in your spirit you’re dwelling in the House of the Lord.
