Unintentional: Using King David As A Case Study
I don’t mean to defend King David’s one adulterous act, but I want to draw a line between intentional and unintentional offences.
King David was strolling on the terrace when he saw Bathsheba bathing, and one thing led to another, he didn’t plan it; it just presented itself before him.
Then he sent his army general to invite her, it wasn’t intentional to get her pregnant, he had many children, it was just unintentional carelessness.
When she brought the news to David after a few weeks that she had conceived as a result of the randomness, David committed yet another unintentional offence, murder.
I don’t mean to defend King David’s one adulterous act, but I want to draw a line between intentional and unintentional offences.
The first scene to the third scene were unintentional, none was planned to happen, if David hadn’t seen a bathing woman, he wouldn’t have sent for her, David knew the consequences of taking another man’s wife, he avoided that with Abigail, but this was different, his flesh overpowered his understanding, he was seduced, you know those Hittite women were overly charming and lined.
If Bathsheba was seated there calmly enjoying the evening breeze, nothing would have made King David send for her, nothing, he was the King, all the beautiful maidens in the land were his by law and principle.
Everything David did wasn’t a preconceived idea, all were unintentional, it all presented itself, and to get through it he did the unimaginable.
Confronting David, God placed emphasis on taking another man’s wife, and very little was said about killing Uriah, David had already killed thousands on the battlefield, so taking another man’s wife this very time was the real offence, if it was only killing Uriah without Bathsheba being in the picture, it wouldn’t have sounded that heavy.
Taking another man’s wife is regarded as murder in the eyes of God, the punishment is death, according to the Book of Leviticus.
Also taking another woman’s husband is the same as taking another man’s wife, you can’t have anything to do with a married man as long as his wife is still alive, and you can’t have anything to do with a married woman as long as her husband is still alive, the offence is synonymous with murder.
The Trojan prince Paris travelled to Greece for a peace alliance with his brother Hector returning, he eloped with the wife of the King, hidden underneath the cabin of the ship.
Because of Helene, taken by Paris, Greece went to war, thousands died, the bluish Aegean Sea turned bloody, for 20 years they fought at Troy just for the sake of a woman, kings died, just for one woman, adultery draws blood.
If the woman is single, it can be managed in a way, but once it’s said she’s married, don’t have anything to do with her, not even in your dream.
You may not understand what I am saying, there are many girls out there better than that married woman, and there are many young men out there better than that married man, why not choose from there?
Taking a married woman is a two-faced sword, it slaughters you and also slaughters your entire generation endlessly, but taking a single woman without a husband slaughters only you, it has nothing to do with your generation, you only mess up your life.
We live in a world where sexual acts is a daily match, you hear people boasting about their body count publicly, and you look at yourself and wonder what type of world we live in, it’s a hard thing to convince anyone to avoid.
So.
If you have decided to take up a woman who isn’t your wife, take the single one, and make sure she’s truly single, many married women these days lie about their marital status just to get what they want, so take the single ones so that you could succeed in destroying only yourself and not your generation.
When you go in with a married woman, you’ve slaughtered yourself and your entire generation, if you go in with a single woman, you have only succeeded in slaughtering yourself, could you just slaughter yourself and leave your generation out of the mess, but it would be wise if you don’t slaughter yourself or your generation, let the woman who isn’t your wife be! whether single or married, you have three options, so make your choice.
My advice, if you have had anything to do with a married woman, atone for it, the curse is an unbreakable one if you don’t do the necessary things, of course you know what to do, I don’t have to compel you, the lineage of David paid for the adultery of David in death, incest and bloodshed until Jesus came and lifted the curse, this is how strong it’s to go in with another man’s wife, the forgiveness doesn’t come around so easily.
