What About Discipline?

In the Bible school one of the first things they teach is discipline, without discipline the flesh will always push us around without control.

Discipline is an act of living that guides our life in a way that pleases only God, that reverence keeps us on a balance to think, live, do things and plan in a manner that pleases Him.

Solomon said the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, in Proverbs 1:7, he explained fear as a sense of reverence(silent worship), not a feeling caused by threat of danger or harm.

To say no when it needs to be said, to say yes when it needs to be said in order to please God is the foundation of discipline.

If you reverence(fear) God, it would be difficult to do things that displease Him all the time, I understand no one is perfect and we can’t attain complete perfection, but we can have control over our imperfection to some extent.

The first step of discipline is to keep away from anything that grieves God, discipline helps us to avoid making God feel He’s sorry for creating us.

If Joseph had gone in with the trickster Potiphar’s wife, he definitely would have ended up as a slave all his days in Egypt, but his discipline defeated that fate.
>>Discipline tends to change an uncomfortable fate.

When you’re disciplined, you’ll always put into consideration His Presence around you, you live your life like God is there seated, instructing and watching you.

The fruits of discipline may include:
1. Promotion
2. Respect
3. Blessings

Life of discipline isn’t always that easy to keep, it comes with its ups and downs, and many often would assume you’re being too serious.

Discipline helps us to please God alone and no one else, so having that understanding and consciousness to always reverence Him is only possible when we discipline ourselves enough.

In the Bible school one of the first things they teach is discipline, without discipline the flesh will always push us without control into doing things that make God feel sorry.

At all times the flesh is desirous, it demands all things, even the things that hurt, discipline offers us that ability to deny the flesh what it needs when it displeases God.
