White Veil, Dark Heart

Let your reason for getting married be just, without interest, without gain, just pure, if your reason is out of what marriage stands for, take my word, it’ll be a mistake.

To the girl who will be getting married two months from now – I am a teacher, I don’t tell stories, I say things the way I received them to show people the right path.

In that year, her cousin Cathy came to me and said “Kanayo, Amy’s father died yesterday in active service” his death wasn’t that much concern to me in a way, but what will happen after his death.

I said to Cathy, “Go tell Amy to be careful the way she surrenders to men, she will get pregnant after her father’s funeral” Amy responded to her cousin, you know Kanayo how he talks about things, Cathy told me, we both collapsed into laughter, the expression was funny.

It wasn’t up to two months after the funeral, Cathy came to me, we sat, she said, “My cousin Amy is pregnant” once again like how I talk, I told her, go and tell her to keep the baby. The rest of what happened is a long thing to talk about here.

Let me still talk the way Kanayo talks, I saw a wedding that will take place two months from now, I stood beside the church in the spirit looking at the faces of the couple walking down to the altar, the girl on white veil was all smiles, the man on grey suit all smiles too, but what about their hearts?

Yes the veil is white, the wedding gown is white but her heart is dark, she has an agenda different from marriage, her plans and all she got to offer are destructive, she will shoot the destiny of the man down, she has the heart of a viper, smiles on her face but a dagger hides in her heart.

I turned and looked at the man, smiles on his face with different intentions in his heart, it will be a wedding of two persons walking down to the altar to deceive themselves, he concealed his wicked agenda in his smile, both of them will differently destroy each other, and the marriage? It will be left empty.

Let your reason for getting married be just, without interest, without gain, just pure, if your reason is out of what marriage stands for, take my word, it’ll be a mistake.

As they step into this marriage, may God change their hearts, let the intentions of their hearts be for a good reason and this marriage will work.

– Kanayo Ebuka
